Expanded metal processing
The ability to perform various types of processing allows for great versatility in the use of expanded metal mesh. The arrangement of the panels according to the modular design scheme makes it possible to create surfaces of the desired sizes and shapes. Each type of processing represents a valuable service for designers and users.
Cut to size
The required dimensions can be produced in the cutting departments. Oblique cuts allow the shapes requested by the technical drawing to be made. For meshes with a pitch greater than 100 mm, it is recommended to use multiples of the full mesh unit. Consult our experts.

Curving
Expanded metal mesh sheets can be curved according to project requirements, taking into account the rigidity characteristics of the selected mesh model. Some thinner meshes can even be shaped on site. In the CAU Kiel project, for example, the concave-convex façade is clad with expanded metal sheet, Ambasciata model in a gold finish.
Edging
Expanded metal mesh panels can be bordered along the edges with special profiles welded to the mesh, which also serve as fixing points to the substructure. Various types of profiles are available, such as C, L, and U shapes. The technical documentation also provides some recommendations for installation. Surface finishes
The chosen colour for the expanded metal mesh serves not only a communicative purpose, but above all provides long-term protection. The most commonly used finishes are:
- Powder coating for interior and exterior applications
- Anodising
- Galvanising
Each finish has its own colour range and specific protective properties. There are no ‘standard’ colours you can request a custom colour for your project.
Flattening
Some types of mesh can be flattened, meaning they are completely levelled after the expanding process, returning to the original thickness of the raw material. They can offer good strength even with limited thickness.
