Six different processes to work and use the expanded metal mesh

Fils expanded mesh can be used for a wide variety of applications thanks to different processes. By combining modular panels to suit the design layout, the surfaces are guaranteed to be the right size and shape. Each process offers great benefits for architects, designers and users.

Cut to measure

The required dimensions of the mesh, in both directions (DL and DC), are obtained directly in the cutting departments. Angled cutting makes it possible to produce the shapes foreseen in the working drawings. The look of each sheet after cutting must be defined in the case of mesh with a module larger than 100 mm. We recommend studying either the half or full mesh. See our technical documents or call our experts for further details.

Water jet cutting

Precise cutting of sheets of superior thickness and circular or oval cutting thanks to special equipment. For maximum flexibility in design.

Folding

The way the sheets of expanded mesh are folded depends on the nature of the mesh. Special high precision presses are used to do this. Our DELTA mesh has been pleated for a project in Baulacre (CH). See the project.

Curving

Sheets of expanded mesh can be curved to specification, bearing in mind the stiffness of the mesh module. Some of the thinner types of mesh can even be curved on site.

Trims

Panels can be created from expended mesh by adding special borders, which can also be used to fix the panels to the underlying structure. There are various profiles: C, L and U. Advice on fixing panels is provided in the technical documents.

Flattening

Certain types of mesh can be "flattened", i.e. completely rolled flat after expansion, thus returning to the original thickness of the raw material.
