Fils metal mesh façades  has been used for the Centro Empresarial de Navarra project in Spain: a perfect example of how cladding can allow a building to fit into its surroundings. A shiny golden metal mesh has been used here, imitating the colours of Nature.

The advantages of expanded metal mesh for architecture

The wide range of metal mesh for building project

Metal mesh pattern differ in the geometry of the mesh: they range from square, to round, to hexagonal and diamond ones.

The great variety of models and materials, used to realize products in expanded metal mesh, responds to different aesthetic needs and choices. You can create architectural metal screen for solar control.

The production of expanded metal for architecture: the most used materials

For architecture, ALUMINIUM, is the most suitable material for its lightness and workability. Generally, the thickness of the raw material used to produce the expanded metal ranges from 1.5 mm to 3 mm.

Ultra Limites metal meshes

The Ultra Limites architectural meshes represent an innovative product of Fils that start from a long diagonal of 400 mm up to 800 mm.

Among these ultra limites lines, Alexa 800 is the result of advanced production technology perfect for use in the construction of expanded metal facades with a strong impact on the view even from a distance.

The peculiarity of these meshes is the curvilinear conformation which produces remarkable light reflection effects.

The modularity of the panels

Thanks to the cutting equipment it is possible to make expanded metal sheets of other sizes than the standard ones (1000 x 2000 mm, 1250x2500 mm, 1500x3000 mm).

The resulting segments are then edged and treated with the surface finish provided for the intended use.

The combination of expanded metal panels is very flexible, from a classic alignment for rows and columns, to an alternating pattern of bricks or combinations freely defined by the designer's creativity.

Tailormade solutions in expanded metal

The design of modern coverings is increasingly based on bold and often curvilinear, almost 'organic' forms.

To obtain these effects of large membrane-shaped surfaces, the panels are made of expanded metal in the shapes and dimensions calculated by the 3D assisted design tools. Some large projects required the execution of thousands of measurement panels, one different from the other.
